challenge.
The Dutch Ministry of Defence approached us to design track-and-trace and HUMS solutions for military barracks and containers. Key requirements included reliable operation under extreme weather conditions, global coverage and years of autonomous operation. Military assets are deployed across the world's most demanding environments, from Arctic cold to desert heat. Tracking and monitoring must function even where no GSM network exists. The housing needed to withstand mechanical shock, extreme temperatures, and prolonged exposure to moisture and dust. At the same time, the system had to be compact, energy-efficient, and serviceable in the field for years without scheduled maintenance.

We utilized an LTSS Core Module housed in a reinforced closure. In addition, Iridium was used as a fallback to ensure reliable communication even in areas without GSM coverage. For the development we collaborated with Add-Mission B.V., which contributed its domain expertise within the defense sector. The modular architecture of the LTTS Core allowed us to move quickly from concept to validated prototype. LTE-M handles day-to-day connectivity wherever a network is available; the Iridium layer activates automatically when it is not, ensuring the asset is never truly off the grid. Add-Mission's operational knowledge proved essential in aligning the technical design with real-world defence deployment requirements.
