challenge.
Tolsma-Grisnich approached us to develop dedicated electronics for climate control in storage rooms. Key requirements included real-time monitoring, high reliability and the ability to operate autonomously for years in a humid environment. General control solutions were not suitable because the electronics had to integrate seamlessly with Tolsma's own software platform and remain reliable across temperature fluctuations from -2°C to +40°C. For Tolsma, a short time-to-market was equally important, because seasonal product introductions leave no room for delays in development.
our approach.
We developed the complete embedded hardware and firmware for the TMU as a single integrated solution. The architecture is built around an RTOS core that processes real-time sensor data and controls connected components within tight timing constraints, fans, vents, heaters, and mechanical cooling systems respond within milliseconds. Special attention was given to the sensor interfaces: temperature via PT100 elements, humidity via capacitive sensors, and COā via NDIR measurement. Development proceeded in short iteration cycles, with weekly alignment between our engineering team and Tolsma's R&D department. That pace of collaboration made it possible to incorporate design changes quickly without disrupting the overall project schedule.

"You need to develop products faster and faster. Demcon electronics is the right partner for that."
